Road Department

The Greeley County Road Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance and preservation of the county's transportation infrastructure across 783 square miles of rural roadway. The department maintains county roads, bridges, drainage systems and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient travel for residents, agricultural producers, businesses, school transportation and emergency services.

Core responsibilities include roadway construction and repair, gravel road grading and maintenance, bridge inspection and repair, roadside ditch and drainage maintenance, culvert installation, maintenance and replacement, traffic sign installation and upkeep, vegetation management, snow and ice removal and emergency response to weather-related roadway hazards.

Road Conditions & Travel Information

The Road Department works year-round to maintain safe and passable roadways throughout the county. Weather events, maintenance, bridge repairs, construction projects and emergency conditions may occasionally result in road closures, restrictions or delays.

Landfill & Recycling Services

The Greeley County Landfill provides safe and efficient solid waste disposal services for county residents, businesses, contractors and agricultural operations. The county also operates a Recycling Center to help reduce landfill use and promote environmental stewardship.
